They believe what?

According to our president and others, Islam is a religion of peace. The terrorists and media have hijacked it (no pun intended) and made it look bad. We must read the Koran for ourselves and see the beauty of what it teaches.

For those of us who prefer not to do that, there are excellent books out there. One that I've read recently is The Complete Infidel's Guide to the Koran by Robert Spencer. I've wanted to read this book for several years. Unfortunately when I first heard of it I was living in a Muslim country. A little hard to get hold of that book over there. The other country I lived in, while not a Muslim country, still has a sizable enough Muslim population and scared enough Christian population to not get my hands on it there either.

Here are links to a couple of articles shared on Facebook today. They don't reassure me much either. First of all, HERE'S an editorial from an Anglican priest who actually understands what a Muslim's daily prayer contains and what it says about Christians. Believe it or not, there are churches out there who, in a misguided attempt to build bridges with Muslims, actually open their doors and offer their buildings for use by Muslims for prayer. Are they insane?! Do they not have the sense to get a translation of the prayers and see what they're praying for? Do they honestly think that the Muslim Isa is really the same as our Jesus, only misunderstood? Don't believe it for a second!

HERE is something so disgusting it's almost beyond words. Rape is not only not illegal in Islam, it's jihad. Rape a non-believer and you earn heaven points. Of course, these are kafir women...this does not apply to Muslim women. Or, at least, it's not supposed to. In Islam there is one law for Muslims and one law for non-Muslims. However, where race is concerned, there can still be loopholes, as you'll see in this article.

For the sakes of my Muslim friends, I really do wish that Islam was the beautiful religion they believe it to be. I have intelligent, well-educated friends who either do not know what their religion teaches or choose to ignore it in an "oh, that was way back when" kind of way. But I do not care to be a dhimmi...so I read and learn.
