Today was Monday. That means women's Bible study and then errands. This year we're studying 1 Corinthians and today we made it to chapter 5, where Paul gets down to business. It's hard to think of excommunicating someone from the church. How Paul sets it up is with the hope of the person softening their heart, repenting, and coming back to the church. It's meant to be temporary. That means you may deny them communion and take them off the member roster, but you also put them on the prospect list. You still hope to see them in church.
This doesn't happen easily in churches where communion doesn't mean anything. It's only celebrated once a year, with grape juice and crackers.
After today's wonderful lesson it was time to renew the tags on the truck. A quick bite to eat, state inspection, and then $30 for stickers. I would have built a fire but I was gone with the Little Prince who was being awarded for his popcorn sales. He had a blast at the meeting. He's looking forward to Baba being home next year to really help him go out and sale. He had over $300 but there were kids with over $600 and another with over $1000. He wants to pie the pack leaders. I say, "More power to him."
Oh, the Pepperjack cheese up there? That was on my shopping list today. Nothing beats pepper jack on club crackers with a glass of white Zinfandel. Speaking of which, ...
