My laptop is home where it belongs! The fan needed to be replaced and I had to wait for the part to come in. I took it in this morning to be replaced and picked it up this afternoon. Actually the laptop has been here the whole time but I wasn't using it so as not to risk it overheating. I wanted it here instead of in the shop in case I had an emergency that the iPod couldn't handle. But now, after a couple of weeks, I can type on a real keyboard and not push half a dozen wrong keys in the course of typing one word! Whoohoo!
Baba is here for a few days. He's here to spend time with Aunt while he can. He didn't want to wait until after his trip to the States and risk not getting to see her again. SIL arrived late Sunday night and will stay until the end. It's going to be hard to picture the place without her and her old Renault. It's hard to believe that car will outlive her! Even with the would-be thief falling from a balcony (where he was trying to break in) and smashing the dashboard. Lots of good memories in that car. I'm going to miss it. Wouldn't ever want to drive it myself, but I'll miss it and the errands and visits Aunt took me on in it. We used to laugh and exhaust ourselves trying to understand what the other was saying.
She'll never hear me learn to speak Arabic but at least we got to drink coffee together.
