I've read some things lately about grains that have me wondering...Given the level of violence in the Middle East and the ubiquitous bread at every meal (not to mention LOTS of rice), if they suddenly switched to a Paleo diet, would we finally see peace in the region?
OK, I'm not actually that dismissive of the never-ending crisis in my old stomping ground or of the Paleo diet (which I've only just heard of today), but I did start to wonder if there was a connection of some kind. Wonder if something like Paleo could have an effect on my own Lebanese civil war. You know, the one between the Boss (now a teenager), the Peanuts, and Mom? Just wonderin'.

Don't know what paleo is, unfortunately.
It's a type of primal diet, not diet in the weight-loss sense of the word though. Very interesting. Whole foods. No grains, dairy, legumes, beans, few starches. Lots of meat, vegetables, and some fruit.
A primal diet has no grains, legumes or beans? Aren't those more likely in primitive societies to be eaten than meat because they're cheaper and easier to store?
