The people of Burma (I refuse to call it Myanmar) are suffering through the most horrible crisis imaginable. Unfortunately, it started long before the cyclone. The cyclone has just been the epitome of their government's cruelty to its people.
Burma's government has a long, despicable history of mistreatment of its people. Actually, "mistreatment" is the wrong word. They abuse their people. They kill them on a whim. They require that they all follow the same religion or else they're persecuted and denied the chance to serve in the government or the military, about the only way to be successful in that country.
They steal food and other items sent as aid for the people left homeless, injured, etc. When they do finally allow any aid in at all, they delay its delivery so they can stamp their names on it.
Do they really think their people are so blind? We need to pray for our Christian brothers and sisters in Burma, who have suffered persecution for so long. We need to pray for all Burmese people as they have this catastrophe added to the long list of abuses imposed upon them by their government.
