We've been having incredibly cold weather here in Kuwait. The lows are near freezing. This morning when I checked out http://www.weatherunderground.com/, I found that at 7 a.m. the temp. was 1 degree Celcius. One degree lower and it would have frozen water. Yikes! And the lows are to remain around there for the next several days.
Now you're probably wondering why I've titled this post "Heat Wave". That's because my friend told me she heard that cold spells like this don't happen often, maybe every 10 years or so. But when they do, usually the hot weather (July/August temps) arrive earlier than usual. Double yikes!! It already hits above 50 C that time of year...it'll be hotter? How is that possible?!
As much as I hate being this cold, I'd rather dress for the weather in sweaters and long underwear than not be able to dress for heat in shorts and t-shorts. Don't want the attention the shorts attract over here and short sleeves aren't allowed at my school unless I'm wearing a long sleeved shirt underneath. Not exactly cool and comfy. Of course it's not so bad in the mornings when I'm arriving and I can always take off the long sleeves before I leave and we do have A/C but still...not particularly comfy, KWIM?
So I'm really hoping that this time the usual heat wave doesn't show up this year.

Beth,
What about a loose, flowing skirt or dress? I really don't know much about the customs over there.
We'll just have to pray that it won't be too hot!
:-)
