Sandstorm!

Yesterday was our first day back to school after a nice 2 1/2 week break (and ALL my girls were here-today too). I'm still smiling. I'm also smiling because we found out we have no school Thursday for Hijra New Year. So our first week back is only 4 days! Then, after a full 2 weeks of school we have another 2 weeks off for the Winter Break. Schools that follow the Ministry calendar take those 2 weeks off. The Boss's school does not so he's got school those 2 weeks. Last year we were going to pull him out of school so the kids and I could go to Lebanon but Hezbollah went stupid yet again, just in time to make getting to and from the airport questionable. Of course 2-3 days after deciding not to go (the decision was made the day before we were supposed to leave) things settled down and we could have enjoyed a nice visit. Anyway, you've got to love teaching in a Muslim country...holidays, holidays, holidays! LOL

On Saturday I returned to the Christian bookstore downtown to buy the little pocket KJV Bible I'd put back on Thursday. Of course it'd been sold and it was the only one they had that was exactly what I'd been looking for. So I chose a nice, Slimline NASB. I keep it in my bookbag so I can read it at school when I receive my daily devotions by e-mail. Yesterday while the Arabic teacher was in my room I decided to do the Bible study in an LWT magazine I'd had in my desk forever. But when I tried to turn to Revelation I had a revelation of my own: the book ended in the middle of Hebrews! It went straight from the middle of Hebrews to the concordance. Luckily I had no meetings after school (unlike the rest of the week) so right after school I went back to the bookstore and exchanged it. My friend from next door rode home with me so she went along for the ride. After I picked up the Boss and dropped him to taekwondo I took her home. She invited me in and we munched and had a nice visit until he called and told me they were done a bit early.

After school we noticed the high dust. It was very windy and almost looked a bit stormy. When I left her house it was dark and it was like driving in fog...only it was sand. Nothing like driving in a sandstorm at night. Luckily it's easier to see your way in than a snow storm. It's more like driving in fog. I was going to head to church with the Boss after picking him up but I'd already decided to stay home since I hadn't seen the twins since they went to bed the night before. Driving in the sandstorm confirmed the wisdom of that decision. So we went home, showered, and then as soon as the twins were down we watched "Serenity". We'd spent the weekend rewatching the "Firefly" series and I loaned it to my friend yesterday. While watching the movie I messaged her and told her I couldn't wait for her to finish it so I could loan her the movie. Maybe I'll invite her over to watch the movie. More fun with friends.
